I’m after a bike for a mix of urban and off road my budgets between £300 & £500 any suggestions (PS I did some riding 10 years ago but have been doing other sports since)

I saw a Cannondale going for about £300 today anybody give an opinion on it, the parts looked a bit iffy.

Grab a new bike for £500 - can’t go wrong. If the Cannondale is nackered it will cost you £150 to get new chain/cass/middle ring anyway plus everything else.

the Cannondale was new it was their “entry level” one or low spec offering

I still think £500 is the starting point for a bike that might get ridden. Will last a lot longer for sure if you get the bug again. (ps. factor in £20 or so for mudguards, your gonna need em!)
