I would be interested in the Marmotte for next year. I think you are able to do this self-organised or through one of the tour companies.

Yes, the three speed shopper challenge might be best at another event. Although I would offer a tenner to anyone who can get a Silver at the Marmotte on a shopper.

I thoroughly recommend the Marmotte. I have riden it this and last year, its a brilliant ride.
Very easy to organise. Cheap flight to Geneva, car hire to alpe d’Huez and cheap ski appartment.
Happy to give more details for anyone that is interested.
One piece of advice - get early registration to get in first group on road.

This year I think it was 3 January. I suggest you watch web site around Christmas and get in first day to be assured of a low number.

I know a number of the Condor Road club would be up for the Marmotte, I certainly am.

A friend of mine has done it and said it was fantastic

It looks like it will be a choice between the Marmotte and the DLMC next year.

Very happy to find a thread that’s in English! I think the Marmotte has to be combined with the DLMC, the latter being essential preparation for the former. I need to improve on keeping my legs in good order for the climbs at the end of these events. I suffered in the Devil Ride at the weekend, an event, by the way, that I can unequivocally recommend. One of the very best days out on the bike I’ve ever had. Are you back in the saddle yet Cacophony?

Enjoyed your blog entry for The Devil Ride, Earthdreamer. How did you get on in Ireland?

El Cid, enjoyed a fantastic trip to Ireland - so action packed that I’ve not yet found the time to write it all up! Great to meet Esroh. Will certainly try to get back to do some other events over there, possibly Wicklow Mountains next year. Will try to get out one morning soon, but it won’t be this week.

No!

Pot off but still poorly ( no matter what El Cid says)! Have put wrist to good things to improve strength and mobility! Its bad but the Cacophony will get there!
