Hi,

I am about to buy a bike from the Halford range as part of their cycle to work scheme. I would be grateful to receive your opnions on what to buy for a budget of 400 quid-ish?

I will mainly be doing the run to work which is a mixture of road and canalpath etc.

Sorry but I am a total novice where gear is concerned. An ex-colleague gave me some great advice but the more the merrier.

Thanks folks - I am looking forward to getting the blood pumping again and some air in me lungs.

The bike doesn’t have to be from their normal range - apparently they can get hold of almost anything.

I have just ordered a Specialized road bike which is going to be due for collection next week.

I guess a wider choice doesn’t necessarily make choosing any easier!
