I new to disk brakes so need some sensible advice. I need to locate an Avid rotor for my bike which has the Juicy Five system. However they are difficult to locate at short notice, whereas Shimano are readily available. I was told by one shop that you should not swap componentry, yet another said it was totally acceptable and that I could use Hope’s or Shimano with out any problem. What is the correct answer - warranty issues aside?
