Hi, I have just moved to the area and I am trying to find some road riders to join up with. I can’t really commit to a whole day out every Sunday in the traditional cycling club mode, due to young family. Work part time, so weekdays or evenings are an option.
Thanks Helen

Earlybird Road Rides

Ever thought of getting up at 6.00am for a ride of the old road bike at 6.30am? Yes? Well The Earlybird rides are built just for you!
The Earlybirds are a group of Ilkley cyclists who ride road bikes everyday from Ilkley. The USP being that we meet up at 6.30am weekdays and 7.00am Weekends! This allows the less important aspects of everyday life to get done, ie families/ work. Generally during the week we ride for an hour on local lanes to various destinations and at the weekend its around 2 hours on Saturday and can be from 3-6 hours on a Sunday.

Also throughout the year ride we various sportive events in this country as well as on the continent and organise socials as well. Socials meaning pub based entertainments, again home & abroad. Well you got to take the chance when you can.

We encourage new riders to join us. The rides are fairly tough but you won`t be left behind in the middle of nowhere! The rides will be found on the Jd Cycles web site http://www.mountainbiking.org.uk/forums/. This acts as a forum for like-minded riders to discuss cycling whilst pretending to work!

If its a morning glory you`re into come along and see the Wharfe Valley in its! its a laugh and you get fit quick.

We are a mixed group of abilities, and we try to do rides that suit all. No girls yet. Monday and Friday are always easy days. Some days are designed to be tough (hilly, fast efforts etc) as of course the ultimate aim is to get fitter. There are riders out every day, sometimes just 2, sometimes 8 or 9. Newcomers welcome.
