Hello all,

I am writing to you today to ask for your support in a sponsored bike ride that I am participating in. This is the first post I have ever written on here.

Myself and my good friend Megan Bassford will be participating in a cycle challenge around the island of Cuba from the 23rd February - 3rd March 2008 and in doing so, raising funds for charity.

We will be riding a 400km course over 6 days. Most days will cover at least 80km, the equivalent of the famous London to Brighton Bike Ride. This will be a particularly great achievement for both of us as this will be the first time we have taken on a challenge such as this and, as yet, neither of us have ridden anywhere near the 80km distance in one go. However, we are both training hard in order to raise our fitness levels enough to complete this challenge.

Between us we are attempting to raise £5000 for Computer Aid International who are the biggest provider of ITC for health and education to the developing world. We need to raise this by the 8th of February

The money we raise will go towards refurbishing computers and lap tops and distributing them to underprivileged schools in Cuba (one of which we will visit as part of the ride) and other parts of the developing world for the first time.

We are looking for as much help from all over the country as possible, so if you could donate just a little bit of money, it will go a long long way.

To Sponsor Us or For more information on our challenge visit our sponsorship page at http://www.justgiving.com/brettandmegan

or the charity’s website http://www.computeraid.org

I hope some of you guys here can help us

Thank You in Advance

Hi Good Luck with your ride.

Can I make a few points.

You say “..your money will go a long way” - Too right, for a 400km bike ride in the sun for a start.

You say “.. underpriviliged schools in Cuba” - Cuba is a socialist country, surely all their schools are at an equal state of privilige, under or otherwise.

If I had £5000 spare and felt like donating it, would you stay at home?
