I know we have the upcoming Winter Solstice ride to look forward to, but I think we need a little something else to brighten our winter gloom, and ease the pain of training in the cold and dark.

So, how about - Early Birds Winter Pub Crawl?

We would have to do it in the next couple of weeks, before the glut of Christmas Social activities sets in. How about a Thursday evening.

I’m well up for some raucous drinking but not sure I’ll be able to make any of the next 3 Thursdays as international work duties call. But please don’t postpone on my account.

I was going to suggest a get-together on an additional date - Thursday 27th December - as I’m being left home alone and need some drinking buddies.

Is there still some talk of the “Early Birds Sports Review of the Year” award ceremony - categories such as Best/Worst Crash; Bad (Cycling Clothes) Taste; Worst Excuse for not riding, etc. We can get Mark from “Beyond Leeds” to come and cover it.

Perhaps this warrants a seperate thread for categories and nominations…

But going back to the original question I think 10 pints of beer will be a nice challenge for a Thursday night.

With a 6:30 start and Cacophony’s legendary drinking prowess, you’ll be in the Yard by 7:00pm.

Afterwards maybe El Cid and Gizzajob could attempt a repeat of the Easter-time shenanigans and have a go at the Christmas tree? Just a thought…

Another award category: Most ill-fated cycling related wager of the year.
