I’ve been to Glentress a few times now (my favourite of the 7 Stanes ),camping at the Rosetta campsite in Peebles .Does anyone know of any good MTB friendly Pubs/B&B/Guest Houses in the Glentress area ?? Cheers.

Highly recommended!!

As is the curry house in Peebles, although not sure what it’s called. Watch out for Captain Calamity - one of the waiters who knocked over 4 bottles of Cobra one sitting!

Although Mrs Muir is good, i would always opt for Trisha O’hara if she’s got space.  Really cosy place and a great breakfast.  She even doesn’t mind punters rolling in drunk (Stand up and be counted Mrs M!).

Hi

I have also stayed in a B&B called Viewfield that was OK, let us leave the bikes inside over night and the breakfast was reasonable.

If you are going for a long weekend it’s worth checking out self catering options in the area. We stayed here at Easter, and it worked out about £12 pp pn. You do ofcourse have to cook your own breakfast.....

Also my dear boy, you will not grow up to be a strong downhilling dude if you shiver and shake while sleeping in your car you know. Browse up this thread and then stay in a b and b like cross country race heads. thank you.

I feel i need to translate this slang for those not below the age of 11.

Sam, please don’t refer to me in that manner, you had the unfortunate incident of falling off your bicycle twice in your race, chortle chortle.

I enjoy the adventure of staying the night in a motorcar, and that besides I am much quicker typing in this manner than of full sentences with proper meaning, rah rah.

I really find having to pay for ones room very churlish, I have a very suitable motor vehicle which doubles up as a motor home also.

tongue wink

I understood it fine, I also agree that its a much easier way to type! But, since the vast majority of people on the forum dont, I’l do my best to type proper init! Also, i love sleepin in cars, so comfy (so long as there’s some nice seats!!) not sure bout a thivic though!!
