I don’t normally give hot tips away, but I’ve got a great way of getting some free money.

Put some money on Liverpool to win the Eurpopean Cup - generally available at 6/5 (ie you put £500 and you get £1100 back - just enough then for a nice bike from JD’s).

There is no way they will lose. Alan Hansen said so.

If you are feeling really greedy then try a treble with Cunego to win the Giro (6/4), and Vino to win the TdF (2/1). They are both nailed on certainties.

Try http://www.unibet.co.uk if you get any grief from the bookies in Ilkley about not taking bets on men riding bikes.

Brilliant recommendation Gizzajob - its a cert.

I’m off to Barclays this lunchtime. Everything I can borrow is going on the treble. I’m not too good at working odds out. If I borrow, say, £25,000 and put it on, will you work it out and let me know how rich I am going to be - YIPPEEE!!!

El Cid. I guess you are as gutted as me that those cheating Itie’s won last night.

I couldn’t face getting on my bike for the EB ride this morning as I would have had to touch my Campag brakes and I have vowed to have nothing to do with Italy for a while. I’m even going to go without my Friday night pizza.

But anyway, as to your betting issue. It is a time for a deep breath and to hold faith. If the boys had won last night you would have had £60,000 rolling on to Cunego and Vino.  We can get this back on track by you getting down to Barclays and getting £60,000 out (get a re-mortgage on your house if need be).

Cunego has drifted to 2/1 after a poor performance on Tuesday, so in some ways it is even better.

Once Cunego wins, your 60k will become 180k, and then once the Kazakh boy romps home in Paris it will be £540,000.

You can then buy me a beer. As long as it is not a Peroni.

Obviously I’m a bit downhearted, not that I’m bothered about Liverpool - no offence.

I agree with you , the only way out of this mess is to get in a little deeper and increase the wager. I can’t afford to lose the initial bet. I will sort it out today, and follow your recommendations. Thanks again for your wise words.

Please don’t tell Mrs. Cid - Thanks

Ok El Cid, you’re 85,000 down, but it’s now time to think big.

Vino is 2/1 for the TDF.

Another loan of 50K will return 150K.  You’ll still be 15k the better over the whole deal and you’ll thank me for it.

I’m off now to watch him stomp up Ventoux in the Dauphine.

The Di Luca win was a big disaster for me, and my wife has ordered a new kitchen as well. Obviously she is not aware of my dire financial situation.

I can’t loan any more money from the bank, so I’m going to have to go to a disreputable money loaning company to borrow my stake. I can lie on the forms. Its the only way out of this mess.

Please , please don’t tell my wife, Gizzajob.

Thanks again for all your help and guidance in this matter.

I’ll not be putting anything on Vino in the TDF after today’s showing. Looks like his climbing is on a par with mine…

Thanks Harry, but the loan has been taken out and the bet placed.

I have every faith in Gizzajob’s recommendations, he is a man of integrity. He would not dream of having a laugh at my expense or my family’s welfare.
