Makes my tally of 430 road plus 50 turbo miles look a bit tame - there must have been a lot of cafe stops in that 1000 miles Bruce. I go for quality over quantity which is just as well - where do you get the time?

Hands up who went to Buckden today - I bet some crazy fools did. A tickly throat was enough to see me staying in bed, not surprisingly.

Never mind only 3 and a bit weeks to go. If you’re not fit now you better get hammering it (Sinbad)

Its all quality, from a poor quality rider!
Can’t see anyone having gone to Buckden today apart from Matt!

Would you belive it. Just when I was getting fit I get a ruddy chest infection.

The bizarre thing is, I was ill this same week for about 5 of the last 8 years. (plus once in Majorca too, when we used to go earlier).

Still it’s lucky for you lot my Majorca training plan is well and truly foxed, cos I was already going better than usual.

At least I’ll have an excuse for suffering & getting dropped.

I took a tooling on Saturday up the hill out of Threshfield - my excuse is too much training this week and I was in need of a rest.

Ended up going through and off with two other losers from Threshfield to Skipton, then caught up with Danny who had stopped to fix his saddle who towed me back to the bunch at Crosshills - one hell of a workout, and my legs still hurt!

You should have come up to Stump Cross with Me Reg, Tom and Monkey!

Go down with a head cold now!  So I can taper off ready to give you a good kicking in the mountains of Majorca!  ( PS: down to 63kg! )

Brucey, Brucey, Brucey

You were so skinny to start with you will just be piss weak now.  Unless you get a following wind to blow you along you will be dropped well before we ever reach the mountains!

Running again for me at lunchtime, with another swim session after work - taper only planned to start on the 4th March as there is far too much training to fit in!  Oh and I don’t understand that metric nonsense, I’m 10 st 12lbs, down from 11st 9lbs last year.

10st 12lb - I’m only four pounds heavier than that, but with twice the power. At least I did have before having both lungs removed.

I won’t rise to the bait of insulting you Stew as I fear there may be too much humble pie eating to be done.

In fact I won’t insult anyone anymore (Brucey excepted of course), as I plan to be sensible this year and go back fitter than when I arrived rather than injured - racing begins for real on the 25th March at Stokesley.

How come you’re not doing the AV event? I was hoping to do Lindale, but it’s 4th cat only, and I don’t fancy that Aire Valley either.

What’s the Stokesley one like?

OK I give in and will insult Stew afterall.

Stew - with twice the power why are you so crap at sprinting?  I fear I may come down with signusitus again this year (although with Giles in tow maybe not!)

I think we’ll all have to watch out for Giles. Hopefully - he’ll be knackered from going up all those hills and going out boozing. Plus, it’ll only count if he’s there from the first day.
