Weather seems to be breaking with no frost for SAT morning. The ride is back on folks!!

Why may i ask have there been changes to the usual ride lengths. Is this for personal reasons, such as, say holidays or individual training programmes that dont take into account EB group collective considerations? ? Or are there altruistic reasons for this suprising turn around?

As Napoleon once said “some animals are more equal than others”. Is this the case with in the heirachy the EB group?

I had a mail from ‘the Skipper’ - yourself, asking me to temporarily take over the mantle of runs poster - due to your heavy workload!

I thought about the coming weekend very carefully and tried to provide some interest for all comers. But specifically me. I realise that there was not a quorum at the time I made that decision.

As I will not be able to be in attendance on Sunday ( due to going skiing ) I was worried that if I posted anything further than Burnsall, that you might get lost without my back lane (sorry dear) knowledge.

I temporarily forgot about Augustus Gloop’s new GPS wrist device. But I’m not sure his heart and lungs could drag his bulk much further than Burnsall. He tells me he climbed 1500 metres in 12 centimetre increments in 35mins, yesterday afternoon in his garage. He had to change wrists half way through.

Shall we have runs approval meetings in The Yard from now on?

As i do not get paid to take the mantle of skipper then i can not take on that roll without due resposibility being placed upon me. if this is to be the case then the Yard is the obvious place to accept it. The usual cost of getting me blotto`d would suffice to take responibilty for another year. If a new rider wants to come on a ride then this would involve any officials of the EBs to undertake the a-forementioned ceremony!
But i of course don`t seek to take such office!

I’ve noticed that the early-birds have tended to avoid the cold conditions this week (and I thought you were all tough in Yorkshire?). Will the light covering of snow we are expecting over the next 48 hours mean that weekend activity would likely to be curtailed, or would it be a strategic move off the back-roads in favour of some A-road fun?

BBC Weather for Ilkley

I’m not sure if it is some newbie thing going on here as you guys have had my cycling through 2 feet of water near the golf course, on the front heading into hail-storms to Grassington and sub-zero temperatures and black-ice on the tour of Skipton!  Surely a couple of inches of snow will make little difference?

Spots are easy to get rid of if you use Assos Arse cream! The photoshopping is rather clever as i dropped in Mrs Whoosh` sadlle into another picture!! Not too bad eh!
