V Brakes against Disc (Mountain biking only)

Can someone lead down the right path i have v brake system but will it make a lot of difference if i change to disc brakes.

Erm, yes! The disc brakes are the best brakes for mountain biking, hydraulic all the way. They work better in the dry, better in the wet, no rim wear, pads last alot longer, more control, better feel from the brake levers and the real plus is you can decend faster and brake later. You will need disc compatable hubs and disc ready frame (most bikes have disc frames as standard). Good brakes range from about £180 for the pair but if you want the best then go for the Hope brakes, they rock.
