I have an Airbourne Lucky Strike titanium frame, Shimano XT Chainset with 40 and 48 tooth chainrings, a Shimano 9speed close mech back cassette ( 12-21) and a brand new SRAM chain. The chainrings and cassette are both within 4 months old.
I changed my chain recently, and now when I ride hard, like pulling away, my chain seems to jump a cog - it goes BANG then TING and the pedals jump a tad.
It’s extremely offputting, I like to ride hard and feel safe when I do.
I’ve aligned the back derailleur as much as I can to be spot on.
Can anyone shed any light on why this is happening and what I can do to stop it. I’m sure it’s happened before and stopped of it’s own accord - is it just the chain wearing in?
Also, when riding over a bumpy surface my bike seems to rattle but I cannot for the life of me work out what it is.
I get really annoyed when my bike makes noises, I am so used to it being silent.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
