Well this weekend the Overoptimists have a whole weekend in Dent to break their bikes (though hopefully nothing else) so JD’s better be ready next week to replace scuffed handlebar grips, muddy tyres, stretched chains and lost water bottles....and some of us might even want some lubricant. Or we could just get completely new bikes.

Got my lubricant packed already, along with rubber gloves and thick elastic bands, so my room-mate and I will be well catered for.

Great weekend and routes Robert - thanks.

Well done to the hardy minority who completed both main days.

Commiserations to those (17) who ducked out, with best (some more justified than others) excuses ever - eg Slight virus, major sickness, neighbours dinner party, hypothermia, frost bite, fatigue, sore arse, no lift home, going for a walk, might have a potter round Ribblehead - but the most embarrassing of all (3 grown men) - having a spin into Sedbergh for a coffee and a spot of shopping!

Thanks again Robert!

Hello Father Faff - Have you the stats for last night’s incredible epic? The three of us from our group who went into the pub were met with much scorn! Back up lights will be fitted for next week. Hope your injured front tyre got you home OK.

I’ve e-mailed the ride stats to the Yahoo Group “Overoptimists” - so hopefully you got it! Anyway it was over 25 miles and over 3000ft of ascent, which makes it one of the tougher Tuesday night rides we’ve done (at least for the six of us who actually got to the top of Simon’s Seat and didn’t bunk off to the pub early).
