Craven Cycling Festival 18-20 May
</p>
<p>
Introducing &#8216;The Prologue&#8217;, the first of what the organisers hope will become a firm fixture in cyclists diaries as an Annual Cycling Festival offering cycling fun, competition and adventures for everyone.
</p>
<p>
It doesn’t matter if you’ve never ridden a bike before or whether you’re an experienced road cyclist or mountain biker, you’ll find plenty to enjoy in Settle.
</p>
<p>
If you like you can take part in organised day rides, watch riders tackling the steep hills of the Étape du Dales or just enjoy the fun in the Market Place on the Sunday.
</p>
<p>
Ride superb Dales trails on a Mountain Bike for a day or weekend, take a combined Bike/Rail Trip on the Settle Carlisle Railway, or just jump on a bike and explore the wonderful countryside of the Yorkshire Dales and the beautiful Forest of Bowland.
</p>
<p>
Full listings of all the Festival Events, including Bike Hire and Cycle Tour operators are available as a pdf. Check out what&#8217;s happening and if you want to join in make sure you book well in advance.

Off-Road Action
</p>
<p>
If you want some real top quality mountain biking Settle is the place to be and local experts Dales Mountain Biking will be running special Day and Weekend Rides during the Festival.
</p>
<p>
To the east the YorkshireDales has a network of over 800 km of bridleways, byways and green lanes - which you can link up in countless ways. Enjoy a Free Guided Ride on Saturday or Sunday from Country Lanes.
</p>
<p>
To the west, Gisburn Forest with 9km, 12km and 16km traffic free waymarked routes. Free maps &amp; bike hire available from Off the Rails, who will be pitching camp in the Forest on Friday.
</p>
